Process Efficiency improved by rolling out a robust Product Development Process using Windchill including data migration from Pro/Intralink 3.4 for a Pumping Systems Company
Business Challenge
Customer was using Intralink 3.4 and Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 3.0 for its Product Development Process
Customer had engineering data authored in AutoCAD & SolidWorks apart from Pro/Engineer which makes it impossible to manage in Intralink 3.4 resulting in disconnected systems and lack of single source of truth
Customer was using SQL Database which was not widely supported by Windchill PLM (back in 2008)
The Solution
Implemented Windchill PDMLink with Business Configurations to address customer’s process gaps
Migrated data & users from Pro/Intralink 3.4 to Windchill using Pro/I Migrator
Used custom tools to validate data especially around Family Tables and fixed issues related to Data Integrity to ensure the migration was 100% accurate
Trained all the users on Windchill PDMLink to manage their Engineering Documents and Processes for a smooth adoption
